# private/ (local development only)

This folder stands in for the server's private directory (`/home/USER/visit-private`).
|
||
|
|
It is git-ignored except for this README.
|
||
|
|
|
||
|
|
For local development:
|
||
|
|
|
||
|
|

cp .env.example private/.env
|
||
|
|
```
|
||
|
|
|
||
|
|
The PHP API (started with `npm run dev:api`) will find `private/.env`, create
|
||
|
|
`private/data/leads.sqlite` and `private/logs/app.log` automatically.
|
||
|
|
|
||
|
|
In production, **never** place this folder inside the document root. See
|
||
|
|
`docs/DEPLOY-CPANEL.md`.
